The Hawaii Flight
The Hawaii flight is going to be a long
one for anybody, no matter where you live, since the Hawaiian
Islands are located almost in the middle of the Pacific
Ocean... more than 2000 miles from the nearest major land
mass.
When we've flown to Hawaii, we have done
layovers and we have also done a non-stop flight. A non-stop
flight from the mid-west of the United States is about 9
hours long... so, if you are planning on taking a non-stop
flight from anywhere east of Los Angelos, California in
the U.S., get comfortable!
Most flights that you will find will have
a layover in Los Angelos before hopping on another plane
for another 5 hour trip over the Pacific Ocean before landing
in Honolulu.
So, almost no matter where you are traveling
from, you will be in the air for at least 5 hours during
your flight to Hawaii.
And do you know what the worst thing
about the flight is?
Because of your anticipation of your luxurious
Hawaii vacation, the closer you get to this tropical paradise,
the slower the plane seems to travel... especially your
first Hawaii vacation! But then, of course, you finally
feel the decent of the plane and a little while later, you
start seeing the Islands...
You're able to see the islands from above
for about 20 minutes or so before you actually land, so
there is plenty of time to take pictures and observe the
islands from above.
